About This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy sets out how we treat the personal data that we collect, use and disclose.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version will be readily available on our corporate website and at the bottom of every page of our corporate website.  Some SAI Global solutions and/or sites may have their own, possibly different, privacy statements. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of each of the SAI Global solutions and/or websites you visit or review.

Our Global Privacy Fundamentals

We abide by the privacy laws in the countries in which we do business. This Privacy Policy describes how we abide by a number of global data protection principles, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Australian National Privacy Principles (NPPs), related to the collection, use and disclosure, and secure management of personal information.

Types of information we may collect from you

The types of information that we collect from you and hold will vary depending on your dealings with us. This information is likely to include any or all of the following:

·       technical information, including the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform; and

·       information about your visit to our website(s), including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL); clickstream to, through and from our websites (including date and time); products you viewed or searched for; page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), and methods used to browse away from the page and any phone number used to call our customer service number(s).

SAI Global does not collect sensitive personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade-union membership or data concerning health or sex life.

How we collect information from you (the source of information)

Generally, we collect information directly from you, such as:

·       when you submit information through our websites;

·       by corresponding with us by phone, email or otherwise;

·       in person; or

·       in the course of us providing you with a requested product, service or benefit.

We also receive information about you from other sources such as:

·       your use of any other websites we operate or the other services we provide;

·       our related bodies corporate; and

·       third-party service providers we work closely with including, for example, business partners, sub-contractors, payment and delivery services, advertising networks, analytics providers, search information providers and credit reference agencies.

Why we collect, use and disclose your information

We will only collect, use or disclose your personal information where we have a legal basis for doing so. Typically, this will be:

·       where you have provided your consent

·       where we are legally obliged to do so

·       where it is necessary as part of a contract or transaction between SAI Global and yourself

·       where it is in our legitimate interest as a supplier of risk management solutions (for example providing you with customer service, or protecting the security of our systems)

How we use the personal information we collect

We will use information collected directly from you in the following ways:

·       to carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us and to provide you with the information, products and services that you request from us;

·       to provide you with information about other goods and services we offer that are similar to those that you have already purchased or enquired about;

·       to notify you about changes to our services; and

·       to ensure that content from our websites is presented in the most effective manner for you and your computer.

We will use information collected about you in the following ways:

We may share your personal information with any member of our group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, as defined in section 1159 of the UK Companies Act 2006.

How we store and protect your information

We store personal information in a combination of computer storage facilities, paper-based files and other records. In so doing, we have taken numerous steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Where we provide personal information to third parties, we use contractual measures to protect this information.

Additionally, we take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify personal information when we no longer need it.

The internet is not a secure method of transmitting information. Accordingly, other than where we use secure socket layer technology (SSL) to ensure information is securely transmitted and processed, we cannot and do not accept responsibility for the security of information you send to or receive from us over the internet, or for any unauthorised access or use of that information.

Your Consent

We will ask you for your explicit consent before capturing and processing your personal data. By providing consent you are giving us permission to process your personal data specifically for the purposes identified.

Consent is required for SAI Global to process your personal data, but it must be explicitly given. Where we are asking you for sensitive personal data we will always tell you why and how the information will be used.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by completing the form Data Subject Withdrawal of Consent Form, which is provided with the Consent form.

Disclosure of Your Personal Data to Third-Parties

We may also disclose your personal information to third parties who work with us in our business to provide, promote or improve the products or services you have requested or are interested in, such as:

·       our related bodies corporate;

·       our affiliated organisations in the countries set out below;

·       third-party service providers (such as trainers, auditors, banks, and mortgage rooms);

·       national regulators and accreditation bodies;

·       marketing consultants, promotion companies and website hosts

·       consultants and professional advisers

·       analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our websites; or

·       credit reference agencies for the purpose of assessing your credit score where this is a condition of us entering into a contract with you.

We may disclose your personal information to third parties:

·       in the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal information to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets; or

·       if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal information in order to comply with any legal obligation.

Depending on your relationship with us or the type of service we provide to you we may disclose some of your personal information, for the purposes described above, to our offices and other organisations located in China, Korea, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, The Netherlands, the United Kingdom, other European Union countries, Mexico, Canada and the United States. We may also disclose your personal information to other countries specified by you from time to time in order to provide services to you.

By providing your personal information to us, you consent to our disclosure of your personal information to organisations in those countries (where relevant or necessary) even though it may not receive the same protections that it would in your own country. You may request us not to transfer your personal information to the countries listed above, but if you do so we may not be able to provide the services or products you have requested from us.

Retention of your Personal Data

SAI Global will process and store personal data for up to 5 years as defined by our awarding bodies.

Your Rights as a Data Subject

At any point while we are in possession of or processing your personal data, you, the data subject, have the following rights:

·       Right of access – you have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you.

·       Right of rectification – you have a right to correct data that we hold about you that is inaccurate or incomplete.

·       Right to be forgotten – in certain circumstances you can ask for the data we hold about you to be erased from our records.

·       Right to restriction of processing – where certain conditions apply to have a right to restrict the processing.

·       Right of portability – you have the right to have the data we hold about you transferred to another organisation.

·       Right to object – you have the right to object to certain types of processing such as direct marketing.

·       Right to object to automated processing, including profiling – you also have the right to be subject to the legal effects of automated processing or profiling.

·       Right to judicial review: in the event that SAI Global refuses your request under rights of access, we will provide you with a reason as to why. You have the right to complain as outlined in clause 3.6 below.

All of the above requests will shared with the third party should there be a third party involved in the processing of your personal data.
